Episode IV - Tuna Fishing

Blue Fin & Yellow Fin Tuna

In Episode IV, Tuna Fishing, David will be showing the techniques used for successfully catching tuna. The selection of lures and bait, the lure pattern and the boat speed will be discussed for better performance. We will also look at the use of chum and chunking methods to bring a school of tuna to the boat.

As with the first two episodes, we will talk about the biology, the habits and the diet of yellow fin and blue fin tuna with the SCDNR. With this information we will look into modifying our trolling methods in response to the new information.

The use of electronics will play a big role in locating feeding tuna schools and we will demonstrate the methods for tracing tuna. Radar will be the main instrument used.
